“Either we as a free world unite and defend our values and become stronger, or dictatorial authoritarian regimes will become strong and will oppress the nations of a free world,”, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Head of the KSF, Prime Minister of Ukraine in 20214-2016 stressed during his opening remarks at the Special Edition of the Kyiv Security Forum on October 23.

“The fight of Ukraine for its freedom has inspired our Belorussian brothers and friends. Despite the fact that Lukashenko’s authoritarian regime has been trying to destroy every seedling of freedom, - their freedom is breaking through the ground which Lukashenko tried to raze Belarus too,” Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

He has stressed that now as never before the people of Belarus need the support. Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that he supports the decision of the Western partners to introduce sanctions against the Belorussian regime: “There have been doubts whether to introduce sanctions. But one can not have any doubts when we are fighting for truth, for our freedom and for the will of the people.”

“We as Ukraine very well know what the fight for freedom is. We know about the Heavenly Hundred, who have fought for freedom and won at the Maidan. We know about Heavenly Thousands of Ukrainian military who stood against Russian aggression and protected Ukraine. We as Ukraine know how important the support is for those who are fighting,” he stressed.

Russia and Putin have not changed their plans: “Putin has a key goal – not only to restore the Soviet Union. Putin’s goal is to restore the prison of the nations. And he wants to put the people of Ukraine, Georgia, and Belarus into this prison. He’s is dreaming to put the Baltic states into this prison, too. He wants to divide the world in a new way.”

“The Western world already today has to find the answer to the question of what to do with Russia. Taking into account what Putin was spoken in Valdai, he is looking for support in China. Either we as a free world unite and defend our values and become stronger, or dictatorial authoritarian regimes will become strong and will oppress the nations of a free world,” - he said.

For this reason, Arseniy Yatsenyuk said, unity is needed: “First of all, we need unity of the Ukrainian nation. We may have different views on the historical processes, we may speak different languages, we may support different political parties, and have different religious beliefs. But we can not perceive the key issues differently. We have to remain united in understanding that Ukraine has the highest value for every citizen, that the fight for Ukrainian freedom is our common work.”

“We can not have different views on the fact that Putin’s Russia is the aggressive state that wants to grab Ukraine. We can not have different views on the fact that Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk are Ukrainian sovereign territories that have to be back to Ukraine. And they will be back”, - he said.

Unity is needed between the EU and the US, as well as between all the countries of the free world, he stressed.

“Only when we are united, we are strong. My message to all Ukrainian political forces and to our Western partners. Our unity around the principles, and our fight – this is the formula for success, both for Ukraine and for the free world,” - Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
