If the G7 countries – Germany, Britain, Canada – a re leaders in the process of improving and modernizing the Ukrainian health care system – it will be one of the best examples of our cooperation with the EU and the free world, – said the Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014-2016, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum Arseniy Yatsenyuk during the KSF online discussion on December 18.
The Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom Melinda Simmons, Canada's Larisa Galadza and Germany's Anka Feldhuzen took part in the discussion "When Will Salvation Come? Coronavirus, Vaccine and the World in 2020" Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that despite the extremely difficult year, this time was successful for Ukraine's bilateral relations with these countries. He recalled that Germany, as a member of the EU, supports Ukraine with financial assistance and reforms, Canada recently ratified an audiovisual co-production agreement, and the Ukrainian parliament has just ratified a strategic partnership agreement with the UK.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the KSF noted that the world is facing a really huge challenge – COVID-19: "It would have taken decades. And now it took only 12 months to save the world."
"Despite the fact that this is a very difficult year, we have to learn from it," he said. Arseniy Yatsenyuk addressed the representatives of the G7 countries: "In my opinion, one of the key reforms in Ukraine, which should be supported by the G7, is the health care system. We need to improve and modernize the Ukrainian healthcare system. People need to feel that they can get medical care, get the best treatment to save their lives. If the G7 countries – Germany, Britain, Canada – are the leaders of this process, in my opinion, it will be one of the best examples of our cooperation with the EU and the free world. These are real results that we can get."
"The year is difficult. But all challenges give us a chance. Chance to become stronger. And we need to act – to save our people and make our countries stronger and better," Arseniy Yatsenyuk added.
