There can be no negotiations about Ukraine without Ukraine. No negotiations on the fate of Europe without Europe. No one can define the future of NATO without an entire alliance, - Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chair of the KSF and Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014-2016, said on Sky News during the Munich Security Conference.
He emphasised that ‘frankly speaking, the optics are not the best’ regarding the US position. However, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed, he expects that this should change as soon as possible: “I believe that we all and mainly Americans have to realize that Moscow is an arch rival, both to the United States, to NATO and to Ukraine.”
Answering the question whether Putin really wants peace, as the US administration claims, Arseniy Yatsenyuk said: “Putin wants chaos. Putin wants war. Putin wants Ukraine. Putin wants to undermine the United States. Putin wants the collapse of NATO. And Putin wants the victory of all the dictators and autocrats. That is a combination of Putin's Russia, North Korea, Iran, under the umbrella of China.”
“It has to be a joint fight. A joint fight for the fragments of the international law, a joint fight to save Ukraine. Because if Ukraine fails, this is going to be a disaster for the United States and for the Oval Office. What Putin wants? Putin wants to out-cheat, to outplay new US administration. He wants to create another “Afghanistan syndrome” for the United States. So I hope that the US will be back in game,” - Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
