“Any discussions about Ukraine making territorial concessions, first of all, violate international law, and secondly, contradict the Ukrainian Constitution. Thirdly, it is a trap set by the Russians to destroy international laemphasized Arseniy Yatsenyukonstitution, completely discredit the Ukrainian government, demoralize the Ukrainian army, and at the same time ‘wipe their feet’ on all Western allies,” emphasized Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine from 2014 to 2016 Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum, in an interview with Estonian public television.
“Moscow wants concessions from Ukraine. It spreads information through various channels that it would be satisfied with Donetsk. But this is not true. Its real goal is to cross yet another red line,” he stressed.
If Ukraine were forced to make concessions regarding Donetsk, the Chairman of the KSF explained, “Moscow would make the following demand: we will remind you that your four regions and Crimea are included in our constitution. Now you must fully hand over everything from this list that we have not yet seized. And we insist that you remove your territories from the Ukrainian Constitution.”
Moscow would then demand that Ukraine remove its NATO membership from the Constitution, “include the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian language,” and “also write into the Constitution that the Armed Forces must number 50 or 70 thousand.”
“This cannot be allowed; Putin cannot be allowed to play this game,” emphasized Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
