70% of Americans support Ukraine – Trump and the US administration cannot ignore this

The United States won't stop supporting Ukraine, as three key factors keep that from happening – the will of the American people, the Republicans’ stance, and unity with NATO allies. This was emphasised by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum and Prime Minister of Ukraine from 2014 to 2016, during his appearance on Espreso TV.

Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum stressed that halting the supply of weapons and intelligence would effectively mean the US siding with Russia, something which American society opposes. “If the United States stops selling weapons to Ukraine and ceases to share intelligence, it would be fair to say that, in such a situation, the US has sided with Russia. But the American people are not on Russia’s side. 70% of Americans support Ukraine and oppose Russia, whilst 55% of the American public believe it is necessary to maintain or increase support for Ukraine,” Yatsenyuk noted.

That is precisely why, he said, the US cannot ‘drop out of the game’. “All of the US’s key military and economic allies are involved in this game. The majority of the American people support Ukraine – that is the first point. The second is the reaction not only from Democrats but also from Republicans to the unprecedented lifting of sanctions on Russian diesel exports. The third is the Europeans and NATO,” emphasised KSF Chairman.

At the same time, Yatsenyuk stressed that Putin is effectively conducting a special operation against the US, attempting to persuade Washington to agree to a deal favourable to the Kremlin. “Putin is conducting a special operation on US soil; he is deceiving and lying to Americans. He has now proposed a so-called package of economic agreements, and the American press is already reporting that this is a package of corrupt deals,” noted the former Prime Minister.

Chairman of the KSF emphasised that the frontline remains the foundation of Ukraine’s resilience.
